You should start every business beautifully and correctly. If you decide to try out what's behind the gym door, let us give you some tips to make it go smoothly for the first time. Do not worry that you will not be able to cope with some simulator or you will be embarrassed and feel like an alien among agile muscular men and pumped-up girls. They also had their first time.
What is important to know before starting training
When going to the gym, you need to determine a goal for yourself. It will motivate you not to go astray, but to train more intensively and intently. Choose a training time and make a schedule. To begin with, two visits per week will be enough.
It is very important to be sure that there are no health problems that can worsen or interfere with sports. If in doubt, we recommend that you consult your doctor. If everything is in order and you are ready, it's time to get ready. What should I take with me to the gym?
- comfortable roomy bag or backpack;
- a free sports uniform that makes you feel comfortable;
- towel to wipe off sweat;
- towel and cosmetics if you are going to take a shower after a workout;
Plan your meals for the day so that you don't eat at least an hour before your workout and half an hour after, but you need to drink a lot of water. If you don't have the opportunity or desire to work out with a trainer, ask for their help at least for the first session. They will be able to give you a short tour of the gym and introduce you to the simulators. Gyms usually practice this. Feel free to ask.
Don't try to try everything for the first time. Do several sets of different exercises with a total duration of 45-60 minutes. Keep an eye on your feelings during and after your workout: if you feel pain in your back or joints, you may have made technical mistakes during classes and should seek help.
Equipment in fitness centers
All those intimidating simulators at the glance of beginners are conditionally divided into 3 groups:
- free weight.
Strength training machines are suitable for those who want to develop strength, gain mass, keep their muscles in good shape, have strong ligaments and tendons, and dense bones. Muscle strength is developed by gradually increasing the weight used in various exercises and simulators. In such classes, athletes operate with different exercises depending on the muscle group they want to influence, the speed of execution, the number of sets and repetitions.
